Sous Chef/Line Cook

The Clinton House, under new management, is breathing new life into the Hunterdon County dining scene by refreshing classic American fare. Since 1743 the Clinton House has been a fixture of the region, offering delicious standard American food in cozy dining rooms with comfortable, professional service.

The Sous Chef has a versatile role in the kitchen, and is expected to be a flexible team player, pitching in where and when needed. The Sous Chef sets up the kitchen brigade to succeed during the day, and anticipates challenges and helps the kitchen succeed during service. Responsibilities include:

the ability to work each station on the line

inventory management

kitchen personnel management and scheduling

lunch service

dinner service

prep service

dish washing


menu development and cost management

The Sous Chef is one member of a team that works together. The kitchen team at the Clinton House aims to support one another and help each other, and the restaurant in turn, succeed. The ideal candidate does not bring an ego, and leaves personal issues at the door. Healthy life habits are required. The ideal candidate is prompt, dependable, agreeable, and carries a positive attitude.

Salary: $45,000.00 to $55,000.00 /year
